Article: KCDS Wins Leadership Award
Posted on: Jan.21, 2010On Friday November 6th at the Annual Conference, ASPECT (Association of Service Providers for Employment and Community Training) awarded its first annual award for leadership.
KCDS was one of two ”Organization Level” awards were given to organizations demonstrating exemplary leadership in the community-based training sector.
Here is an excerpt from the nomination:
”We are change-responsive and an organization that has overcome significant challenges in meeting and exceeding targets for programs while ensuring program and financial accountability to our funders. At times it feels as if we have ‘rubber walls’, always expanding to fit the sheer numbers of clients who use our services either in person or virtually.
With the launch of KCDS’ eServices initiative in 2006, many of the values that we have developed became tangible. We understand that our clients experience diversity in the communities where they live and with their lifestyle choices; for example, KCDS provides services for an area that encompasses 22 unique communities and is more than 100 kilometres from one of its boundaries to another.
