The Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program (KWS) rewards employers committed to creating ongoing employment for new employees. Employers can be reimbursed for 20 to 50% of wage costs while they train a new worker.
The Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program helps offset the cost of hiring a new employee. The Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program can also be tailored to help an employer accommodate a worker with a disability.
This program is funded by Service Canada and assists unemployed Employment Insurance eligible individuals who would benefit from on-the-job work experience. KCDS provides the Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program to: Nelson, South Slocan, Slocan City, Kaslo, Crawford Bay, Boswell, Ainsworth, Balfour, and Ymir.
